Community Employment Specialist

About the role

Sheppard Pratt’s Community Employment Program (CEP) helps individuals with varying disabilities gain and maintain meaningful employment. This direct care opportunity supports clients in obtaining and maintaining meaningful employment in their communities.

Responsibilities

• Identify clients’ work interests and basic skills required for employment.
• Provide on-the-jobsite training and ongoing support.
• Support engagement, assessment, job search, job development, treatment team collaboration, and long-term job support.
• Help identify and negotiate potential jobs, integrate clients into jobs, provide job coaching assistance, and advocate with employers and clients.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED and two years of experience in the human services field.
• A bachelor’s degree in a related field is preferred.
• Skills and knowledge in supported employment activities.
• A driver’s license with 3-points or less and access to an insured vehicle.

Key facts

• Schedule: Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm; occasional hours outside the regular schedule, including weekends, may be required.
• High school diploma/GED and two years of human services experience required; a related bachelor’s degree is preferred.
• Requires a driver’s license with 3-points or less and access to an insured vehicle.
• The position has a flat pay rate of $21.37/hr.
