Job Overview
ENT MATRIX is seeking a Computer Programmer for a long-term contract in Ellicott City, MD. In this role, you will design, develop, and maintain applications, including systems built with legacy technology. You will work with the Application Team to deliver solutions that meet functional and technical requirements.
Responsibilities
- Review and understand the Application Team’s work plan, report progress, and provide delivery estimates to the Team Lead.
- Participate in requirements-gathering sessions.
- Design and develop applications based on specifications and defined interfaces.
- Explain complex technical concepts to business partners.
- Anticipate, identify, track, and resolve issues and risks, including concerns about accuracy or feasibility.
- Maintain applications built with legacy technology.
- Manage priorities and deadlines while working independently and collaboratively under pressure.
Qualifications
- Very good knowledge of Java and JavaScript.
- Experience with hands-on technical design for large enterprise systems.
- Ability to recommend best practices based on industry standards.
- Experience mentoring technical teams and troubleshooting technical issues.
- Strong collaboration, negotiation, analytical, planning, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, organization, and time-management skills.
- Ability to take direction from business and functional partners.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
