Construction Estimator – Hauppauge, NY

AEC National Recruiters is seeking a skilled Construction Estimator for a mid-sized construction firm in Suffolk County, New York. Based in Hauppauge, this full-time, on-site role offers the opportunity to support commercial, retail, and public works projects. You will develop accurate project costs and help strengthen project planning and profitability in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Review blueprints, specifications, and project documents to prepare detailed construction cost estimates.
• Apply construction industry standards and best practices to improve estimating accuracy.
• Prepare reports covering projected costs, timelines, and budget forecasts.
• Coordinate with project managers and field supervisors to review specifications and align on cost factors.
• Evaluate subcontractor bids, negotiate pricing, and assess quality to identify suitable project partners.
• Use estimating and project management software to conduct cost analysis and maintain accessible, current data.
• Monitor project costs, identify variances, and recommend corrective actions.

Required and Preferred Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience estimating construction projects.
• Strong cost analysis skills and ability to interpret blueprints.
• Proficiency with construction estimating and project management software, including Procore, Bluebeam, and OST.
• At least three years of experience in a similar role preferred.
• A bachelor's degree in construction management or a related field is a plus.
