Job description
Shacks Zozo mkhukhu is hiring a contract Construction Specialist in Sasolburg, Free State, South Africa. This hands-on role involves coordinating and overseeing construction projects from planning through completion, supporting safe, efficient work and quality outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Review construction plans and ensure work follows project specifications, applicable regulations, and safety requirements.
- Conduct regular site inspections to track progress and identify safety or quality concerns.
- Coordinate contractors, subcontractors, vendors, and other project stakeholders.
- Assess material and equipment requirements and support timely availability on-site.
- Maintain accurate records of schedules, budgets, and project expenditures.
- Lead stakeholder updates and help resolve issues that could affect project delivery.
- Measure project performance against agreed targets and recommend improvements.
Qualifications and Experience
- Three to five years of hands-on construction experience is preferred, including project coordination or management.
- Knowledge of construction processes and workplace safety standards.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for working with site teams and stakeholders.
- Sound problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions under pressure.
- Experience with construction management software and tools is an advantage.
- No formal education is required; relevant certifications are a plus.
