Control Room Operator

About the role

Career Compass is seeking a Control Room Operator. Selection will depend on the operational requirements of the Company. The Company’s Employment Equity targets and Policy apply.

Requirements

• At least 3 years’ experience in fleet monitoring, vehicle tracking, logistics, dispatch or a transport control room environment.
• Practical experience using GPS tracking or telematics systems.
• Computer literacy, including email, fleet management systems and Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Good working knowledge of South African routes, major national roads and basic map reading.
• Clear spoken and written English.
• Availability to work rotational day and night shifts, weekends and public holidays.
• A valid South African driver’s licence with own transport is advantageous.
• Key competencies include sustained attention, situational awareness, sound judgement, rapid decision-making, clear and professional communication, route awareness, accurate direction-giving, data accuracy, incident coordination, problem-solving, prioritisation, integrity, confidentiality, reliability, teamwork, discipline and procedural compliance.
