Position Title: Controller

Location: Grand Rapids, MI (Onsite with flexibility)

Compensation: 100,000-120,000

Controller Position Summary

Our client is seeking a hands-on Controller to lead daily accounting operations and provide financial leadership for a growing organization. This role will oversee accounting staff, drive month-end close activities, support intercompany accounting, and help strengthen internal processes while serving as a key partner to company leadership.

Controller Responsibilities

Lead and mentor accounting team members across AP, AR, and general accounting functionsManage monthly, quarterly, and annual close processesOversee financial reporting and account reconciliationsPerform and review intercompany reconciliationsManage foreign currency transactions and exchange rate accountingEnsure accurate cash, balance sheet, and income statement reportingDevelop and improve accounting policies and proceduresCollaborate with leadership on special projects and strategic initiativesSupport audit, tax, and compliance requirementsDrive process improvements and increased use of ERP functionality

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related fieldStrong SAP experience is a MUSTExperience managing month-end closeKnowledge of intercompany accounting and reconciliationsUnderstanding of foreign currency transactions and exchange ratesStrong analytical and problem-solving skills
