About the Opportunity
Ahmed Khan is seeking a Controls Engineer to develop software and control systems for custom test equipment. You will translate customer testing requirements into functional, reliable test systems and contribute throughout the project lifecycle—from requirements review and programming to integration, debugging, and final equipment validation.
This role suits a problem solver who is comfortable tackling new technical challenges. Experience with test equipment is valuable, and candidates with a strong controls foundation who are eager to build test-systems expertise are encouraged to apply.
What You’ll Do
- Develop, program, test, and debug control systems for custom test machines and equipment.
- Convert customer requirements and test specifications into machine programs and functional test sequences.
- Create operator interfaces for setup, operation, results, diagnostics, and troubleshooting.
- Integrate controls with sensors, measurement devices, instrumentation, electrical components, and specialized test hardware.
- Program test sequencing, data handling, pass/fail evaluation, alarms, and fault handling.
- Troubleshoot software, electrical, instrumentation, and machine-level issues during equipment development.
- Work with electrical and mechanical engineers during machine design, build, and integration.
- Develop and perform tests to assess machine functionality, performance, and reliability.
- Analyze test results, identify issues, and develop practical solutions.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in controls engineering, control systems, or related engineering work.
- Ability to interpret technical requirements and turn them into functional control logic.
- Problem-solving skills and an interest in developing custom test equipment.
- Test equipment experience is beneficial but not required.
