Crew Leader

About the role

Byrd’s Family Landscaping and Design is growing.

Tasks

• Run our installs from start to finish.
• Lead the crew and manage installations day to day.
• Build retaining walls, patios, walkways, steps and other hardscape features.
• Install and repair irrigation systems (zones, valves, heads, drip).
• Grade, drain, prep soil, plant, sod and mulch.
• Read plans and lay out jobs (measure, mark and set grades).
• Operate and maintain skid steers, mini excavators, plate compactors and other equipment.
• Drive the company truck and trailer.
• Communicate with clients and office on progress and any issues.
• Protect quality, safety and budget on every project.

Requirements

• Valid driver’s license (no exceptions).
• Hands-on hardscape experience, including building retaining walls.
• Irrigation installation and repair experience.
• Landscape installation experience.
• Experience leading a crew, or a strong lead hand ready to step up.
• Reliable, on time and physically able to work outdoors year-round in all seasons.
• Preferred: Clean driving record and experience towing a trailer.
• Preferred: Hardscape or irrigation certifications.
• Preferred: Bilingual in English and Spanish.

Schedule

• Full-time.
• Year-round work.

Pay

• $22–$25/hour based on experience.
