Criminal Defense Attorney Contract Job - Remote USA

Asif Gul is seeking a dedicated Criminal Defense Attorney to join our legal team on a contract basis. This remote position offers the opportunity to provide expert legal representation to clients facing criminal charges across the United States.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide expert legal counsel and defense representation for clients charged with criminal offenses.
• Conduct comprehensive case investigations and gather critical evidence to build a strong defense strategy.
• Draft, review, and file all necessary legal documents including motions, briefs, and pleadings.
• Negotiate favorable plea agreements with prosecutors to protect client interests.
• Consult with clients to explain case details, legal options, and defense strategies.
• Represent clients in court hearings, trials, and other judicial proceedings.
• Stay current with changes and updates in criminal law and related regulations.

Required and Preferred Qualifications

• Extensive experience as a criminal defense attorney, preferably in BigLaw or major law firms.
• Proven track record in litigation and trial advocacy involving complex criminal cases.
• Exceptional legal writing, analytical, and reasoning skills.
• Strong understanding of ethical standards and best practices in criminal defense law.
• Experience in case strategy development, procedural safeguards, and legal education.
• Familiarity with technology-assisted legal research and digital case management tools.
• Contributions to professional development, legal education, or innovation initiatives are a plus.

This contract role involves collaboration with attorneys, paralegals, and support staff to develop comprehensive legal strategies. Reporting directly to lead counsel, you will actively participate in team meetings to discuss case progress and client needs.

Compensation: $140 per hour
