Criminal Defense Attorney Contract Opportunity - United States

Asif Gul is seeking a dedicated Criminal Defense Attorney to join our legal team on a contract basis. This remote position offers an excellent opportunity for experienced legal professionals committed to defending clients in criminal cases throughout the United States.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide expert legal counsel and representation for clients facing criminal charges.
• Conduct comprehensive case investigations and gather critical evidence to develop strong defenses.
• Draft and file essential legal documents, including motions and briefs, on behalf of clients.
• Negotiate favorable plea agreements with prosecutors to protect clients’ best interests.
• Consult with clients to discuss case details, legal strategies, and available options.
• Represent clients in court hearings, trials, and other judicial proceedings.
• Stay informed on the latest updates and changes in criminal law and related regulations.

Required and Preferred Qualifications

• Extensive experience as a criminal defense attorney, preferably within BigLaw or major law firms.
• Proven track record in litigation and trial advocacy involving complex criminal cases.
• Exceptional skills in legal writing, analysis, and reasoning.
• Strong understanding of ethical standards and best practices in criminal defense law.
• Experience in reviewing, preparing, or instructing on case strategies and procedural safeguards.
• Familiarity with technology-assisted legal research and digital case management tools.
• Demonstrated contributions to professional development, legal education, or innovation initiatives.

This contract role involves collaboration with attorneys, paralegals, and support staff to ensure comprehensive legal strategies. Reporting directly to lead counsel, you will participate in team meetings to discuss case progress and legal approaches.

Compensation: $140 per hour
