Hiring: Data Engineer
Location: Indianapolis, IN 46204 (Onsite 1 day per week)

Job Overview
We are looking for an experienced Data Engineer / Data Scientist to support data integration, pipeline development, data modeling, and governance using Azure Databricks and Azure Synapse Analytics.
Key Responsibilities
• Design, build, and maintain batch and streaming data pipelines using Azure Databricks, PySpark, Spark SQL, and Delta Lake.
• Develop and optimize SQL workloads and dimensional data models in Azure Synapse Analytics.
• Manage data workflows using Databricks Workflows/Jobs and Azure Data Factory pipelines.
• Implement data governance and security controls, including Unity Catalog, role-based access, data masking, and PHI/PII protection.
• Support ETL/ELT processes, data quality, and data integration across secure systems.
• Collaborate with data architects, data scientists, data analysts, project managers, and other stakeholders.
• Participate in requirements gathering, solution reviews, technical documentation, and troubleshooting.
• Support data management policies, design standards, and operational improvements.
Required Skills
• 4+ years of relevant data engineering experience or qualifications meeting the stated education and experience criteria.
• Azure Databricks, PySpark, Spark SQL, and Delta Lake.
• Azure Synapse Analytics and SQL performance tuning.
• Azure Data Factory, Databricks Workflows/Jobs, and data pipeline orchestration.
• ADLS Gen2, data modeling, medallion architecture, and ETL/ELT.
• Data governance, security, access controls, and data masking.
• Git, Azure DevOps/GitHub, CI/CD, and pipeline monitoring.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
• Databricks Certified Data Engineer Associate or Professional.
• Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate (DP-203), if already held.
