Data Governance Engineer (Alation)

Tasks

• Own domain data definitions, business rules, and semantic accuracy across Gold-layer data assets.
• Act as the key liaison between business stakeholders and engineering teams to ensure accurate data interpretation and usage.
• Define and maintain data contracts, SLAs, and certified dataset criteria.
• Establish Medallion architecture promotion standards, defining requirements for Gold and Platinum data assets.
• Partner with the Data Catalog team to maintain business glossaries and end-to-end data lineage documentation in Alation.
• Drive executive-level discussions on data product strategy, business value, and platform direction.
• Create and deliver executive-ready presentations independently, with strong hands-on ownership.
