If you have extensive experience working with DB2 on IBM z/OS environments, this is a rare opportunity to join a team managing mission-critical, high-availability mainframe systems. This is a hands-on DBA role focused on ensuring optimal performance, stability, and recovery for enterprise-grade databases.

🎯 Key Responsibilities

• Lead DB2 database installation, configuration, and performance tuning activities
• Perform essential DB2 utilities including RUNSTATS, REORG, and other core maintenance tasks
• Manage comprehensive backup, recovery, and disaster recovery procedures
• Continuously monitor database health metrics such as logging, response times, and system performance
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues across production, testing, and development environments
• Support software releases, data migrations, and data fixes
• Collaborate closely with application teams on DB2-related deployments and upgrades
• Handle IBM support tickets through to resolution
• Maintain and support high-availability mainframe environments
• Participate in disaster recovery drills and system upgrade projects
• Administer IBM InfoSphere Data Replication (CDC) for data synchronization

🧠 Required Qualifications

• Strong, hands-on experience as a DB2 DBA on IBM z/OS (version 12 or higher)
• Proven expertise in:
  • Performance tuning using RUNSTATS, REORG, and DB2 utilities
  • Backup and recovery strategy implementation
  • Supporting production environments with high availability
• Experience managing full lifecycle DB2 operations from development through production
• Familiarity with replication and CDC tools such as IBM InfoSphere
• Excellent troubleshooting and communication skills

Location: This is an onsite position in New York City, NY. Remote work is not available.

Compensation: $130,000 per year
