What You’ll NeedValid Georgia teaching certificate in Special Education: Deaf Education and or eligibility through GaPSC provisional certification with current enrollment in a DHH programBachelor’s degree in Education or related field from a GaPSC-approved college or universityPrior teaching experience preferredProficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)Strong knowledge of GCPS Academic Knowledge and Skills (AKS), instructional practices, instructional technology, teaching strategies, diagnostic assessment techniques, IDEIA requirements, and differentiated instruction and assessment strategiesDemonstrated excellence in communication, collaboration, classroom management, and building effective relationships with students, parents, administrators, colleagues, and other stakeholders
