Job description
About the role
Jeff Bourbon is seeking a dependable and hardworking individual for a ranch operation. Prior cattle, ranch, or haying experience is preferred, but the right attitude and willingness to learn are important.
Responsibilities
- Provide daily cattle care and receive and start ranch-direct and sale-barn cattle.
- Monitor cattle health, condition, and performance.
- Process, receive, and ship cattle.
- Rotate cattle through pastures and manage grazing.
- Maintain fencing and pastures.
- Bale hay during the summer and operate and maintain haying equipment.
- Perform equipment and ranch maintenance and general ranch duties as needed.
Requirements
- Be dependable and willing to work.
- Be comfortable handling cattle and livestock and working outdoors during the Kansas summer.
- Have a good work ethic and attention to detail.
- Be comfortable operating tractors and haying equipment.
- Be able to recognize cattle health and condition issues and communicate them promptly.
