Design Manager- Data Centers

About the role

TeraWulf is building large-scale AI/HPC data centers. The Design Manager represents the Owner, guiding engineered designs from master planning through IFC documents and tenant turnover.

The role connects internal teams, design consultants and construction trades to help ensure designs are buildable, code-compliant and cost-effective across multiple concurrent new builds. It is suited to an MEP or electrical engineer with meaningful jobsite experience and comfort working with contractors, engineers, vendors and manufacturers, and Owner and Tenant personnel.

Responsibilities

• Manage AI/HPC data center design development from master planning through Issued-for-Construction (IFC) and tenant turnover.
• Coordinate with tenants, TeraWulf teams, design consultants, engineers of record, general contractors, trades, commissioning agents and vendors; keep decisions, RFIs and approvals moving.
• Manage TeraWulf’s design consultant relationships for engineered documents for new builds, fit-outs and retrofits.
• Establish and enforce design quality control and document control procedures throughout construction.
• Audit engineering deliverables for constructability, safety, code adherence, technical accuracy and completeness, and drive issues to resolution.
• Lead value engineering to manage construction cost without compromising design intent or reliability.
• Lead construction-to-operations handoffs, including regular updates to the project Master Equipment List.
• Attend design reviews at the 30%, 60%, 90% and IFC milestones; participate in punch list walks and other onsite design events.
• Visit jobsites for onsite validation, inspection and design familiarity.
