Job description
Join a collaborative cloud engineering team in Toronto, Ontario, as a contract DevOps Engineer specializing in Azure Databricks. This role offers flexible work with 3–4 days per week in the office and the opportunity to support cloud-based projects and reliable service delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions and/or Jenkins for efficient code integration and deployment.
- Provision and manage Azure resources with Terraform, applying sound source control and environment management practices.
- Build and automate data processing workflows using Azure Databricks and Azure Data Factory (ADF).
- Collaborate across teams to improve data lakehouse architectures and implement secure networking practices.
- Manage Kubernetes and containerized applications, supporting resilience and performance across cloud platforms.
- Review code and promote Git branching, pull request, and source control best practices.
- Use SQL to analyze and transform data for organizational decision-making.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- At least 3 years of DevOps and cloud engineering experience.
- Hands-on experience with Azure Databricks and Azure Data Factory.
- Proficiency with CI/CD practices and GitHub Actions and Jenkins.
- Strong Terraform skills for Azure resource provisioning and management.
- Knowledge of Docker, containerization, and Kubernetes.
- Proficiency in Python for automation and data processing.
- Strong SQL skills for data analysis.
