The listed pay range or pay rate reflects compensation for a full-time equivalent (1.0 FTE) position. Actual compensation may differ depending on assigned hours and position status (e.g., part-time).

Position Overview
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Plans, implements and evaluates the educational activities for diabetes specific education.Provides educational opportunities at times and places as needed. Participates in developing, updating, and maintaining educational material. Enhances diabetes education by involving patients and families and other caretakers as appropriate in the teaching and learning process.Participates in activities that promote and expand the reputation and services of the diabetes program.Uses an integrative and collaborative multidisciplinary approach to diabetes care and education, that results in enhanced patient outcomes. Demonstrates effective teaching skills and uses a variety of instructional methods and teaching strategies.Assists with assuring with compliance with regulatory agencies standards.Performs other duties and responsibilities as requested.
Minimum Requirements
Education: Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN), or Bachelor’s degree in Dietetics, Nutrition, or related field with current Registered Dietitian credential, or Bachelor's degree in pharmacy. Board Certified Advanced Diabetes Management Professional (BC-ADM) or a Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES) required within six months of meeting required 1,000 hours of diabetes care and education.Experience: Two years of related clinical experience.Other Credentials: AHA BLS - Healthcare ProviderKnowledge and Skills: Excellent organizational and verbal and written communication skills. Strong interpersonal skills. Strong working knowledge base of endocrine/diabetic care.Special Training: Working knowledge of Word, Excel, and Power Point.
