Job description
Path of Purpose is hiring a compassionate, dedicated Direct Support Professional (DSP) for a full-time, on-site position in Pasadena, California. Help people with developmental disabilities build independence, pursue personal goals, and participate in their communities. The stated pay range is $17.5–$19.5 per hour.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with daily living activities, including personal care, meal preparation, and mobility.
- Follow individualized support plans that promote client well-being and independence.
- Record client progress and changes in behavior or health accurately.
- Support participation in recreational and community activities.
- Communicate with clients, families, and colleagues to coordinate support.
- Use behavior support strategies that encourage positive behavior and communication.
- Assist with crisis intervention when needed, following training and safety procedures.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Compassion, patience, and strong interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in client support documentation.
- Mobility assistance experience preferred.
- Knowledge of behavior support techniques is an advantage.
- Relevant certifications in developmental disabilities or a related field are a plus.
- One to two years of experience in a similar role preferred.
