A well-established law firm is seeking an experienced Director of Public Relations & Media Relations to lead earned media strategy, strengthen brand visibility, and position key professionals as trusted industry voices.
ResponsibilitiesDevelop and execute public relations and earned media strategies.Build relationships with legal, business, regional, and industry media.Proactively pitch professionals for interviews, commentary, articles, podcasts, and thought leadership opportunities.Monitor news and industry trends for timely media opportunities.Manage media inquiries and prepare professionals for interviews.Draft pitches, statements, talking points, and other external communications.Support awards, rankings, nominations, and recognition initiatives.Advise leadership on reputation management and crisis communications.Track and report on media coverage and PR performance.
Qualifications7+ years of public relations, media relations, or strategic communications experience.Experience within a law firm, legal PR agency, or professional services environment strongly preferred.Proven success securing earned media and thought leadership opportunities.Strong media relationships and excellent writing, editing, and communication skills.Ability to translate complex legal and business topics into compelling media narratives.Strong executive presence, judgment, organization, and ability to work independently.
Compensation: $140,000–$160,000 base salary, plus discretionary bonus and comprehensive benefits.
