Job description

Troy J. Small is seeking a part-time Ebike Technician in Chicago, Illinois. In this hands-on role, you will maintain and repair electric bicycles, diagnose mechanical and electrical issues, and help keep the company’s growing e-bike fleet safe and operational. This opportunity is suited to a mechanically skilled technician who enjoys customer service and supporting sustainable transportation.

Responsibilities

Perform routine maintenance and repairs on electric bicycles.
Diagnose mechanical and electrical problems using specialized tools and equipment.
Answer customer questions and explain bike features, operation, and care.
Assemble new bikes and upgrade existing bikes with current technology.
Keep the work area organized and ensure tools and supplies are available.
Collaborate with teammates to improve service processes and bike performance.
Document completed repairs and service work accurately.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent.
Strong mechanical and electrical skills and a solid understanding of bicycle systems.
Good customer service and communication skills.
Experience in a technical repair role or relevant training; 1–2 years of repair experience is a plus.
Familiarity with electric bicycle technology and repair tools.
Bike maintenance certifications are preferred, if available.
