Job description

About the role

Brightpath Associates LLC is listing an Electrical Engineer role with Summer Consultants. The work focuses on investigating building problems, understanding their causes, developing practical solutions, and helping clients choose a path forward.

Most projects are renovations, often focused on MEP/FP systems in existing buildings. Work may involve fitting new electrical equipment into existing buildings, phasing work around ongoing operations, coordinating with other disciplines, and considering how contractors will build the design.

Clients include federal, institutional, and higher education organizations whose facilities support government, defense, research, education, and public service.

Responsibilities

  • Own technical work and coordinate across disciplines.
  • Support project execution and communicate clearly.
  • Mentor earlier-career staff.
  • Build knowledge of lighting, power distribution, low-voltage systems, surveys, code analysis, calculations, equipment selection, specifications, and construction-phase support.
  • Develop project management skills through exposure to scope, schedule, and budget.

Requirements

The role is for an Electrical Engineer ready to take on more than task completion. The listing says candidates do not need to have mastered every aspect already, but should want to build toward future project and team leadership.

Benefits

At SCI, the opportunity includes varied and technically challenging renovation projects across multiple facility and client types, technical knowledge development, learning from experienced engineers, and exposure to project management.
