Company Overview:Tiello has partnered with a highly reputable Structural Steel Fabricator in Palm City, FL on their search for a Miscellaneous Metals Estimator who specializes in delivering high-quality miscellaneous metals fabrication for commercial and industrial construction projects throughout the region.
Role Summary:The Miscellaneous Metals Estimator will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for miscellaneous metals fabrication projects including stairs, railings, ornamental metals, ladders, embeds, and other custom fabricated steel components. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of fabrication processes, the ability to interpret structural and architectural drawings, and experience utilizing Tekla PowerFab (formerly FabSuite).

Job Responsibilities:Estimating & Bid PreparationPrepare detailed and accurate estimates for miscellaneous metals fabrication projectsPerform quantity takeoffs from architectural and structural drawingsAnalyze project specifications, bid documents, and scope requirementsSolicit and evaluate vendor and subcontractor pricingDevelop competitive bid proposals while maintaining company profit marginsProject CoordinationCollaborate with detailing, project management, and production teams throughout the estimating processReview project drawings to identify scope gaps, RFIs, and value engineering opportunitiesParticipate in bid reviews and project turnover meetings after awardAssist with change order pricing as neededSoftware & DocumentationUtilize Tekla PowerFab (FabSuite) for estimating, tracking, and project management functionsMaintain organized bid documentation and estimating recordsUpdate estimating databases and historical cost informationSupport continuous improvement of estimating procedures and standards
Qualifications / Requirements:Required:3+ years of estimating experience within structural steel or miscellaneous metals fabricationStrong background in miscellaneous metals fabrication (fabrication experience required)Experience using Tekla PowerFab (FabSuite)Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, and fabrication drawingsKnowledge of fabrication processes, steel materials, and production workflowsStrong communication and organizational skillsProficiency in Microsoft Office SuiteEligibility to work in the United States
Preferred:Experience estimating projects that include field installationPrevious experience with commercial or industrial construction projectsFamiliarity with Bluebeam, AutoCAD, or Tekla StructuresExperience working with project management or ERP software within a steel fabrication environment
