About the role
Orlando Fire Department is seeking dedicated, detail-oriented individuals to join its team as Fire Inspectors. The role supports community safety through inspections, fire code enforcement, and public education.
Responsibilities
- Conduct fire and life safety inspections in commercial, residential, and public facilities.
- Enforce compliance with Florida Fire Prevention Code and NFPA standards.
- Identify hazards and recommend corrective actions.
- Review plans for new construction or renovation.
- Assist with public safety education and outreach.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- State of Florida Fire Inspector Certification.
- State of Florida Fire Safety Inspector Certification.
- Valid Florida driver’s license or ability to obtain one within 30 days of hire.
- Strong communication and report-writing skills.
- Experience in fire inspection, prevention, or a related field is preferred.
