Fleet Automotive Mechanic II

Georgia Tech Fleet Management seeks an experienced, motivated Fleet Automotive Mechanic II to maintain and repair a diverse fleet of vehicles and equipment supporting one of the nation's leading research universities. Responsibilities🔧 Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair automobiles, trucks, and equipment using advanced diagnostic tools. 🔧 Perform preventive maintenance and major component repairs. 🔧 Repair and overhaul brake, electrical, ignition, transmission, differential, and hydraulic systems. 🔧 Conduct inspections and road tests to ensure vehicles are operating safely and efficiently. 🔧 Support inventory management and fleet asset accountability.
Required Qualifications✔ High school diploma, GED, or vocational school diploma✔ Valid Georgia Driver's License✔ Four to five years of related automotive repair experience
Preferred Qualifications✅ ASE Certifications (or ability to obtain within 18 months)✅ Experience with medium- and heavy-duty trucks, low-speed electric vehicles, or specialized fleet equipment✅ Familiarity with fleet maintenance management systems✅ Experience in a university, government, or large institutional fleet environment
