Flight Control Engineer - Manila, Philippines

Michael Mallari is seeking a highly skilled Staff Flight Controls Engineer with extensive rotorcraft and flight test experience to join our team in San Luis Obispo, CA. This role involves leading and supporting the simulation and development of advanced control systems for innovative aircraft configurations, including multi-propulsor eVTOL and CTOL aircraft at various scales.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop complex VTOL flight dynamics simulations incorporating high fidelity rotor dynamics.
• Design, develop, and implement optimal and adaptive flight controls and guidance laws for reconfigurable aircraft.
• Create flight test maneuvers for system verification and identification.
• Perform system identification in both time and frequency domains.

Required Qualifications and Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in aerospace engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in flight controls and simulation engineering.
• Proven experience in UAS and manned aircraft design.
• Strong understanding of complex aircraft dynamics including aerodynamics, structures, and control systems.
• Expertise in simulating non-linear complex aircraft subsystems and systems.
• Proficient in frequency and time domain system analysis.
• Experience in control system simulation, implementation, testing, and verification.
• Familiarity with embedded real-time control system implementation.
• Knowledge of system identification from flight test data.
• Understanding of FAA and Military standards related to aircraft control system design.

This is a full-time position based in Manila, Metro Manila, Philippines. Remote work is not eligible for this role.
