About the role

Mpirefi builds software that mortgage brokerages and loan officers use to run their businesses. The small team uses a modern stack, and the product is part of users’ daily workflows.

You’ll work across the product, from React on the front end to Cloud Functions and Firestore on the back end, as well as React Native for mobile. The team uses AI tools such as Claude Code in its daily work.

Responsibilities

• Build real features from start to finish across the front end, back end, and mobile app.
• Use context and goals to shape features, with support from the team.

Requirements

• Strong TypeScript and React skills, including a solid understanding of async state.
• Experience building something and the ability to discuss the decisions made.
• Comfort with backend concepts such as endpoints, authentication, and databases; Firebase experience is not required.
• Experience with AI coding tools or genuine interest in learning to use them.
• Care about how products look.
• Be in the Orlando area and be willing to work in the office a few days a week.

Helpful, but not essential: Firebase or GCP, React Native, fintech or another regulated space, Stripe or Twilio, and design sense. A CS degree, a decade of experience, mortgage knowledge, and experience at a big-name company are not required.
