General Laborer Public Works Department

The Village of Davis Junction is seeking qualified candidates for a part-time seasonal entry level general laborer in the Public Works Department.

Duties include but are not limited to: street and ditch repair and maintenance, minor service and repair on equipment, operating snow removal equipment (trucks, skid loaders, etc.), some water and sewer responsibilities, ability to perform manual tasks involving physical strength and endurance under variable weather conditions, ability to effectively work independently, as well as with co-workers and the general public.

The minimum requirements for this position: must be at least 18 years of age and possess a high school diploma or equivalent; must be available to work weekdays, with some evening/weekend hours on an as needed basis; upon employment, must possess a valid Illinois driver’s license; and must successfully pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol screening and background check.

Pay scale $15 to $18 an hour. No vacation or health insurance offered.
