Job description
Discount ACR is hiring a full-time HVAC General Manager to lead business operations, sales, and client relations in Metro Phoenix, Arizona. This role may be performed from an office or from home, but candidates must live in and be available throughout the Metro Phoenix area for client meetings and technician onboarding.
You will oversee the business side of the company and work closely with a lead technician who manages technical service delivery and technician training. The General Manager is responsible for hiring, scheduling, bookkeeping and payroll, customer communication, sales performance, and the overall client experience. This position does not involve performing HVAC repairs.
Key Responsibilities
- Hire, onboard, schedule, manage, and, when necessary, terminate technicians.
- Manage service scheduling and coordinate business operations.
- Oversee bookkeeping, payroll, and related accounting processes.
- Contact clients who request service, confirm their needs, and schedule appointments; an answering service handles initial dispatch calls.
- Build and implement sales strategies that support client retention and satisfaction.
- Organize sales meetings, presentations, and client communications, and ensure consistent follow-up.
- Review sales data, track performance against targets, and identify opportunities to improve results.
- Train and support sales personnel to strengthen their skills and effectiveness.
- Resolve escalated customer service issues and conflicts promptly and professionally.
- Coordinate with the lead technician and other team members to provide a consistent client experience.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
- Business management experience and the ability to oversee multiple functions in a small business.
- Strong organizational, communication, and sales skills.
- Experience with hiring, staff management, scheduling, client service, and bookkeeping or payroll.
- Ability to manage client relationships, follow up reliably, and resolve service concerns.
- Must reside in Metro Phoenix and be available to meet local clients and onboard technicians.
