Job description
Enfermería Geriátrica Integral is hiring a compassionate Geriatric Home Care Nurse in Heredia, Costa Rica. Provide personalized nursing care to older adults in their homes and help improve their health, comfort, and quality of life. This is a contract position and is not remote.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess patients’ physical health and emotional needs.
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with safety requirements.
- Develop individualized care plans with multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
- Monitor and document patient progress, promptly communicating concerns to healthcare providers.
- Educate and support patients and their families in managing health needs.
- Coordinate care with physical therapists, social workers, and other specialists.
- Participate in training to stay current with geriatric care practices.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
- Registered Nurse with a valid nursing license; geriatric care certifications are preferred.
- Nursing experience with older adults in home care or a similar setting; at least two years is preferred.
- Knowledge of medical equipment and technology used in home care.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English and Spanish.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a healthcare team.
