Job description
Join a hardware applications engineering team as a Principal Engineer focused on high-speed Ethernet interfaces and system-level connectivity. This full-time role is based in Santa Clara, California, and is remote eligible.
Key responsibilities
- Work with Ethernet physical-layer technologies, including SerDes, MAC, and PCS.
- Debug Layer 1 issues and support interoperability (interop) analysis.
- Analyze high-speed Ethernet SerDes interfaces, including NRZ and PAM-4 at 100G.
- Apply signal integrity, power integrity, electromagnetics, thermal, and multi-lane crosstalk analysis to IC package and PCB design.
- Use MATLAB for engineering analysis and applications work.
Required qualifications
- Networking and Ethernet experience.
- Expertise in high-speed Ethernet SerDes interfaces, including NRZ and PAM-4 100G.
- Strong knowledge of Ethernet Layer 1, including SerDes, MAC, and PCS, with experience debugging interoperability issues.
- Strong background in signal integrity, power integrity, electromagnetics, thermal analysis, multi-lane crosstalk, and RF applications related to IC package and PCB design.
- MATLAB experience.
