Group/Division

With over 40 years of semiconductor process control experience, chipmakers around the globe rely on KLA to ensure that their fabs ramp next-generation devices to volume production quickly and cost-effectively. Enabling the movement towards advanced chip design, KLA's Global Products Group (GPG), which is responsible for creating all of KLA’s metrology and inspection products, is looking for the best and the brightest research scientist, software engineers, application development engineers, and senior product technology process engineers. Central Engineering is KLA's largest engineering organization comprised of 9 Centers-of-Excellence (CoE) in various disciplines applied across all product groups in the company. These CoE include Handling & Automation, Precision Motion Control, Sensors & Image Acquisition, Platform Design, and Packaging Engineering, among others. Talent includes over 500 engineers across global centers in Israel, China, India, and the US. Each CoE contributes not just talent and deliverables per discipline toward product programs, but also subject matter expertise, best practices, roadmaps, specialized facilities, apparatus, models, and analytics. Job Description/Preferred Qualifications

Design, test, and tune storage systems that power real HPC workloads! The Computational Solutions Infrastructure Group (CSIG) at KLA builds scalable, high‑performance infrastructure used by engineers running compute‑ and data‑intensive workloads. We’re seeking an HPC Storage Engineer who wants hands‑on experience working with production HPC storage systems. This role offers strong technical mentorship, real‑world impact, and a clear path to senior‑level HPC storage engineering!

Job Duties, but not limited to:

HPC Storage Development & Support

Contribute to the design and implementation of high‑performance storage for HPC environmentsSupport storage configurations using NVMe, SSDs, RAID, and enterprise componentsHelp balance performance, reliability, and cost under guidance from senior engineers

Integration & Delivery

Work with product, hardware, and HPC teams to integrate storage into shipped systemsSupport new product introduction (NPI), production ramps, and component changesAssist with storage qualification, testing, and documentation

Performance & Troubleshooting

Execute storage benchmarks aligned to real engineering workloadsAnalyze I/O behavior, throughput, latency, and metadata performanceTroubleshoot storage and performance issues in Linux environments

Learning & Collaboration

Partner closely with senior HPC storage engineers and architectsLearn best practices for production‑grade HPC storage designBuild depth across hardware, OS, file systems, and performance tooling

Qualifications, but not limited to:

2–4 years experience in storage, systems, HPC, or infrastructure engineeringHands‑on experience working in Linux environments
Exposure to high‑performance or enterprise storage systemsUnderstanding of storage fundamentals: IOPS, latency, bandwidthFamiliarity with:NVMe or SSD‑based storageRAID and data protection conceptsParallel or distributed storage concepts (Lustre‑like architectures)

Nice to Have

Exposure to HPC clusters or compute‑heavy workloadsBasic knowledge of networking concepts related to storageExperience supporting systems that ship to customers

Minimum Qualifications

Doctorate (Academic) Degree and 0 years related work experience; Master's Level Degree and related work experience of 3 years; Bachelor's Level Degree and related work experience of 5 years

Base Pay Range: $105,900.00 - $180,000.00 Annually

Primary Location: USA-MI-Ann Arbor-KLA
