About the role
Studio J & Co is seeking an organized, self-motivated intermediate interior designer for an independent contractor position. The designer will work in a fast-growing firm and support projects based on the principal’s design vision.
Responsibilities
- Oversee other designers day to day and ensure they meet deadlines and presentation dates.
- Create drawings independently and ensure they coordinate with project design concepts.
- Conduct research and sourcing.
- Prepare client presentations with inspiration boards, floor plans, drawings and elevations.
- Follow up with vendors on lead times and quotes.

Requirements
- Degree in interior design, design school or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 5 years of interior design experience.
- Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop; SketchUp skills are a plus.
- Proficiency in AutoCad and ability to develop and redline full drawing sets.
- Proficiency in Excel, Word and GMail, with prompt communication when responding to emails and calls.
- Ability to navigate showrooms, obtain pricing and reserves, and knowledge of trade resources and vendors.
- Experience selecting and specifying lighting, furnishings, hardware, floor and window coverings, materials and finishes.
- Experience with quotes, proposals, budgets, purchase orders and purchasing.
- Strong attention to detail, organization and ability to multitask, meet fast deadlines, and work independently and as part of a team.
- Must have a valid driver’s license, insurance and a reliable vehicle.
- Positive, friendly, professional attitude and a good sense of humor.
