Vice President – Energy & Power Private Equity | New York
A leading infrastructure investment platform is seeking an experienced Vice President to join its expanding investment team in New York.
The firm has established a strong track record investing across the Energy, Power, Infrastructure and Energy Transition sectors throughout North America. With the flexibility to invest across the capital structure through both equity and credit, the platform provides exposure to a diverse range of complex, high-value transactions.
Following continued fundraising success, a strong pipeline of opportunities and significant portfolio growth, the firm is looking to add a high-calibre investment professional to its team.
The OpportunityThe Vice President will play a senior role across the investment lifecycle, from origination and underwriting through execution, portfolio management and value creation. The successful candidate will have meaningful responsibility for sourcing opportunities, leading transactions and working closely with senior investment professionals and portfolio company management teams.
Key ResponsibilitiesLead origination and business development, developing relationships with sponsors, management teams, intermediaries and other industry stakeholders to identify attractive investment opportunities.Evaluate new opportunities across the Energy, Power, Infrastructure and Energy Transition sectors, assessing investment merits, risks and potential returns.Lead the execution of transactions from initial assessment and due diligence through structuring, negotiation and closing.Develop and negotiate sophisticated investment structures across the capital stack, balancing return objectives with downside protection and risk management.Build and review detailed financial models, valuations, investment cases and scenario analyses.Prepare investment committee materials and confidently present investment recommendations to senior stakeholders.Monitor portfolio investments and work closely with management teams to support strategic initiatives, operational improvement and long-term value creation.Contribute to ongoing portfolio company strategy, asset management and investment optimisation.Mentor and develop junior investment professionals while contributing to a collaborative, high-performance team environment.
Candidate ProfileThe ideal candidate will bring:6+ years of relevant investment experience within private equity, private credit, infrastructure investing, investment banking or a closely related field.Demonstrated sector expertise across Energy, Power & Utilities, Infrastructure and/or Energy Transition.A strong track record of transaction execution and investment analysis.Advanced financial modelling, valuation and analytical skills, with excellent proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.Experience assessing and structuring investments across different parts of the capital structure is highly advantageous.Strong commercial judgement and the ability to evaluate complex investment opportunities and risks.Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the confidence to present recommendations to senior investment committees and stakeholders.Proven ability to manage multiple transactions and workstreams in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.A collaborative approach, combined with the autonomy and confidence to take ownership of investment processes.A bachelor's degree is required; an MBA from a leading institution would be advantageous.
