Job description

About the role

Circle K is seeking a Jr. Category Manager, Packaged Beverage to support category management and business decisions through data analysis, vendor coordination, and local merchandising activities.

Responsibilities

  • Generate and analyze large amounts of data and draw conclusions to support category management and business decisions.
  • Assist Category and Merchandise Managers with day-to-day local vendor issues, including item setup, pricing, costs, product logistics, and in-stocks.
  • Plan, track, and execute vendor and operations sales incentives or contests.
  • Analyze and support local planogram assortment, planning, and processes, and provide recommendations to Category and Merchandise Managers.
  • Collaborate on promotional and pricing management and execute associated local activities.
  • Support the operational team with in-store merchandising opportunities; occasional overnight travel is required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to achieve operational excellence in the business unit.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge through educational workshops, professional publications, personal networks, or professional societies.
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing Financial and Key Result Area targets pursuant to Company Plan guidelines.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in finance, management, business economics, or a related field is preferred. Other combinations of experience and education that meet the requirements may be substituted.
  • One to three years of work experience is preferred. Retail experience is preferred, but not necessary.
  • Demonstrate curiosity about retail and the constantly changing marketplace.
  • Be detail-oriented and able to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Have strong presentation, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) is required.
  • May require up to 60% travel.
