Library Technician

About the role

Support research library operations at a federal organization in Washington, DC.

Tasks

• Library cataloging, circulation, and serials management
• Upload research documents and maintain accurate metadata
• Assist with library database and subscription access
• Support catalog record quality assurance
• Apply Library of Congress classification and shelving procedures
• Provide customer service and research assistance to library users
• Maintain accurate library records and support daily operations

Requirements

• 5+ years of relevant library operations or library services experience
• Knowledge of Library of Congress classification and shelving
• Experience with library catalogs, metadata, or library management systems
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office - Outlook, Excel, and Word
• Strong communication, organizational, and customer service skills
• Bachelor’s Degree Preferred
• Must be comfortable with the physical duties of library operations
• U.S. citizenship status must be explicitly disclosed with resume submission
