Role Summary

The Life Enrichment Director leads the planning, development, and implementation of the community’s life enrichment program. This role ensures residents have access to engaging activities and experiences that promote independence, connection, and overall quality of life.

The Life Enrichment Director collaborates with residents, families, and interdisciplinary teams to create a dynamic calendar of programs that reflect the interests, abilities, and preferences of the community.

Key Responsibilities

Resident Programs & Engagement

Plan, coordinate, and implement daily, weekly, and monthly activities that support residents’ physical, emotional, intellectual, and social well-beingDevelop innovative programs tailored to resident interests and abilitiesEvaluate the needs and preferences of residents and adapt programming accordinglyEncourage resident participation and engagement in community activities

Event Planning & Community Experience

Organize special events, celebrations, outings, and entertainmentCoordinate transportation, space, equipment, and resources for programs and outingsDecorate common areas and support seasonal or themed eventsPartner with local organizations, entertainers, and volunteers to enrich programming

Team Leadership & Collaboration

Supervise and support Life Enrichment team members and volunteersCollaborate with other departments to support community-wide events and initiativesFoster a culture of engagement, hospitality, and teamwork

Operations & Administration

Maintain activity calendars, attendance records, and required documentationManage department budgets and program expensesEnsure compliance with applicable regulations and company policiesParticipate in leadership meetings and interdisciplinary collaboration

Community Engagement

Promote activities to residents and families to increase participationSupport marketing events, tours, and community outreach effortsRepresent the community in a professional and welcoming manner

Required Qualifications & Experience

Experience in life enrichment, recreation, activities programming, or event planning preferredPrevious experience working in senior living strongly preferredStrong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skillsCreative, energetic, and enthusiastic approach to programmingAbility to coordinate multiple activities and events simultaneouslyBasic computer skills for calendars, communication, and event planning
