Job description
Litigation Attorney | Orlando, FL | $170,000 to $270,000 | Commercial Litigation
Good commercial litigators rarely get bored. They get boxed in.
Same client, same type of dispute, same motion with the names changed. It happens quietly. A partner likes how you handled one kind of case, so you get the next ten like it, and one day you realise your practice has narrowed to a single lane before you ever chose one.
I'm Ryan Jaiswal at Distinct Recruitment, hiring a commercial litigator in Orlando for an AmLaw 100 firm with a well established Florida litigation practice, where the matters are varied and the clients are serious.
The matters• Business and commercial disputes for corporate clients across a range of industries• Contract, business tort, partnership and shareholder type disputes• Matters from early case strategy and pleadings through discovery, motion practice and trial• Real involvement in depositions and hearings, not just the brief behind them• Collaboration with colleagues across the firm's Florida offices and wider platform
The fit• Florida Bar membership• 2+ years of commercial litigation experience, ideally at a firm with sophisticated clients• Sharp writing and the confidence to argue what you've written• Curiosity about how businesses work, because the best commercial litigators understand the deal behind the dispute
The number• $170,000 to $270,000. The range is purposely broad because there's flex for the right candidate if experience warrants it• I'll give you my honest view on where you'd sit in it before you apply
Why a platform like thisVariety is what turns a good associate into a litigator clients trust with anything. A large firm with a real Florida presence gives you the breadth of matters to build that range, the resources to do the work properly, and colleagues who have tried a wide variety of cases. It also keeps your options open, which matters more in the middle years of a career than most people admit.
What a call with me covers• How the Orlando litigation team is structured and the kind of matters it handles• Where your experience is likely to sit in the range• What the interview process involves and how to prepare for itAll confidential, and nothing goes to the firm without your say so.
Curious but not ready to commit? That's exactly when to call. I'm Ryan Jaiswal at Distinct Recruitment, on, and you can find and connect with Ryan Jaiswal on LinkedIn. Use my calendar at to book a call before you apply, or to sit down with me afterwards and go through the application you've sent.
