Mainframe CICS System Administrator

Tasks

• Install, upgrade, configure, and maintain CICS Transaction Server (CICS TS) environments.
• Apply PTFs, manage version upgrades, and perform regression testing.
• Configure and maintain production, test, and disaster recovery (DR) CICS regions.
• Maintain startup parameters and System Initialization Tables (DFHSIT).
• Monitor transaction performance, system health, CPU utilization, and storage usage.
• Analyze transaction response times and resolve performance bottlenecks.
• Use monitoring tools such as OMEGAMON, MainView, and TMON.
• Troubleshoot CICS system issues, transaction failures, and production incidents.
• Support system availability, stability, and disaster recovery operations.
• Collaborate with mainframe infrastructure, application development, and operations teams.

Requirements

• Hands-on experience with IBM Mainframe CICS administration.
• Experience installing, configuring, upgrading, and maintaining CICS TS.
• Knowledge of CICS regions, DFHSIT parameters, and system configuration.
• Experience with PTF application, maintenance, and regression validation.
• Strong skills in performance monitoring, tuning, and troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of IBM z/OS and related mainframe subsystems.
