Mainframe DB2 Systems Programmer/Administrator

About the role

Manage and support DB2 for z/OS subsystems in a mission-critical enterprise environment.

Tasks

• Install, configure, maintain, and upgrade DB2 for z/OS subsystems
• Manage ZPARMs, buffer pools, logs, BSDS, catalog, and directory
• Apply PTFs/APARs and perform system maintenance
• Monitor and optimize DB2 performance, CPU, memory, I/O, and concurrency
• Support DB2 Data Sharing, Sysplex, Coupling Facility, and disaster recovery
• Troubleshoot subsystem failures, dumps, abends, and connectivity issues
• Support DB2 replication products, including Q Replication, SQL Replication, and CDC
• Perform root cause analysis, certification testing, and DR testing
• Collaborate with teams supporting JCL, CICS, IMS, MQ, and distributed systems

• IBM DB2 for z/OS Systems Programming / Administration
• DB2 installation, upgrades, maintenance, and configuration
• ZPARMs, buffer pools, logs, BSDS, and catalog/directory
• Q Replication, SQL Replication, and CDC
• JCL, TSO/ISPF, and SDSF
• Performance tuning and system-level troubleshooting
• Disaster recovery planning and testing
• Preferred: SMP/E
• Preferred: OMEGAMON and MainView
• Preferred: BMC DB2 Tools
• Preferred: Endevor / ISPW
• Preferred: REXX programming
• Preferred: RACF, TCP/IP, network certificates, and Splunk
• Preferred: IBM z/OS Connect, SQL, and JIRA
• Preferred: Software AG ADABAS and Natural
• Preferred: Mainframe modernization, cloud integration, and migration projects
• Candidates must live in or near Phoenix, AZ, or be willing to relocate to Phoenix, AZ.
