Mainframe DevOps Migration Consultant – Fremont, CA

Gaurav Kumar is hiring a Mainframe DevOps Migration Consultant for a contract role in Fremont, California. Help modernize mainframe applications by migrating existing systems to DevOps-focused infrastructure and improving deployment workflows.

Key Responsibilities

• Use mainframe technologies, including z/OS and DB2, to support migration projects.
• Implement and manage Jenkins, Docker, and Kubernetes for continuous integration and deployment.
• Write and maintain Python and Bash scripts to automate tasks.
• Work with cross-functional teams to assess migration requirements, timelines, and project milestones.
• Monitor and troubleshoot mainframe systems and integrations.
• Develop and document standard operating procedures for consistent workflows.
• Attend project planning and delivery meetings, track progress, and communicate updates.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• Proficiency with z/OS and DB2 mainframe technologies.
• Experience with DevOps tools such as Jenkins, Docker, and Kubernetes.
• Knowledge of Python and Bash scripting.
• Previous experience in a similar role is preferred.

Team and Work Location

Work closely with developers, system administrators, QA engineers, and other departments to keep deliverables on track. Report to the project manager. This is an on-site contract position in Fremont, California; remote work is not indicated.

Compensation

Pay: $40 per hour.
