Mechanical Assembler

About the role

Confidential is seeking a Mechanical Assembler to safely assemble equipment by following detailed instructions from supervisors and Group Leaders. Assemblies vary in size and product and require mechanical, electrical, and manual tools.

Responsibilities

• Assemble parts, wires, hoses, and hydraulics onto JLG/Jerr/Dan products using power equipment and wrenching techniques.
• Install product accessories, including decals, mud flaps, cameras, and lights.
• Operate an overhead crane to maneuver parts safely into place.
• Use hand and pneumatic tools, such as wrenches, hammers, and torque guns, and measuring tools such as a tape measure and/or chart tools, hoses, and small parts.
• Determine unit options using schematics, blueprints, and Standard Work Instructions.
• Lift and stack component assemblies and parts up to 35 lbs and lift up to 60 lbs.
• Train and work in various assembly areas in response to production demands, and follow verbal and written work instructions.
• Maintain attention to detail to achieve quality standards and keep a safe, clean work environment in compliance with safety procedures, rules, and proper OSH standards.
• Perform other assigned duties and responsibilities.

Requirements

• Preferred: 6+ months of experience in a manufacturing or general labor industry.
• On-the-job training is provided.
• Physical demands include frequent standing, walking, reaching, hearing, and talking; occasional climbing, sitting, and lifting or carrying up to 35 lbs; pushing or pulling up to 50 lbs and/or up to 30 lbs sustained.
• Non-physical demands include occupational analysis and reasoning, communication and interpretation, and math.
• Environmental demands include frequent work in extreme environments (hot, cold, or inclement) and loud noises. Wear equipment and trucks operate in the immediate area.
• Routine shift hours; frequent overtime.
