The Medical Interpreter will provide accurate, confidential, and culturally sensitive Spanish–English interpretation for patients, families, and healthcare professionals via phone or virtual platforms. Daily responsibilities include facilitating communication during medical consultations, procedures, and follow-up care, ensuring that medical terminology and instructions are conveyed clearly and correctly. The interpreter will follow all relevant ethical guidelines, maintain patient privacy, and adhere to institutional policies and regulatory requirements. The role also involves documenting interpretation sessions as required, participating in ongoing training, and collaborating with team members to support consistent quality standards.QualificationsCandidates should possess strong skills in Medical Interpretation and Medical Terminology.Candidates should possess strong skills in Interpretation between Spanish and English.High proficiency in spoken and written Spanish and English, with a clear and professional communication style.Knowledge of healthcare settings, confidentiality standards, and patient privacy regulations (e.g., HIPAA or equivalents).Ability to work remotely with reliable internet access, manage schedules, and maintain focus during virtual calls.Previous experience as a medical interpreter or relevant certification in medical or community interpreting is preferred.Strong listening skills, cultural competence, emotional resilience, and the ability to remain impartial in sensitive situations.
