Mental Health Monitor Sitter

The Mental Health Monitor/Sitter provides continuous observation of patients who are on suicide watch, in therapeutic restraints, or otherwise identified as at risk for harm or behavior. The position involves careful and video monitoring, documentation, and behavior observations, and providing medically appropriate licensed nursing support while following all instructions from the medical personnel responsible for the unit. The role includes maintaining patient safety and supporting mental healthcare services.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide continuous observation of patients on suicide watch, in therapeutic restraints, or otherwise at risk.
- Monitor patients through in-person observation and assigned video surveillance systems.
- Document observations accurately and promptly, according to unit protocol.
- Record behavior changes, concerns, and incidents in the medical system.
- Follow all instructions from medical personnel responsible for the unit.
- Identify opportunities for improvement and escalation regarding patient safety.

REQUIREMENTS
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Experience monitoring patients or screens observing patients, and reporting findings.
- Minimum of 6 months of clinical, experience in a medical/behavioral setting.
- Strong documentation and communication skills.
