Mental Health Monitor Sitter

The Mental Health Monitor/ Sitter provides continuous observation of patients who are on suicide watch, in therapeutic restraints, or otherwise identified as at risk for self-harm or harm to others. The position provides verbal and written monitoring documentation accurately and complies with hospital, proprietary, and facility policies. The role also provides support to medical and nursing staff, and following all instructions from the medical personnel responsible for the unit. The role is critical in maintaining patient safety and supporting mental health care services.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide continuous observation of patients on suicide watch, in therapeutic restraints, or other at risk.
- Monitor patients through in-person observation and assisted video surveillance systems.
- Document observations accurately and promptly.
- Record behavior patterns, concerns, and incidents.
- Immediately report concerns and incidents.
- Follow all instructions and protocols provided by medical personnel.
- Provide a safe, calm, and therapeutic environment for patients.

REQUIREMENTS
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Evidence maintaining medical records.
- Minimum of six (6) months of clinical, caregiving, observational experience in a medical setting.
- Strong documentation and communication skills.
