Mental Health Monitor Sitter

The Mental Health Monitor/Sitter provides consistent observation of patients who are on suicide watch, in therapeutic restraints, or otherwise identified as high risk for harm or behavior. The position involves visual and video monitoring, documenting observations accurately and completely, reporting behavior and incidents to licensed nursing staff, and following all instructions from the medical personnel responsible for the unit. The role is critical in maintaining patient safety and supporting mental health care services.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide continuous observation of patients on suicide watch, in therapeutic restraints, or identified as high risk.
- Monitor patients through in-person or distant observation through video.
- Report incidents and/or concerning behavior to the appropriate staff.
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient observations.
- Follow all instructions from medical and nursing personnel.
- Assist with communication to ensure patient safety and care continuity.

REQUIREMENTS:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Experience monitoring patients, or working with patients, and reporting findings.
- Minimum of six (6) months of clinical experience in a medical setting.
- Strong documentation and communication skills.
- Ability to recognize and respond appropriately to patient risk.
- Availability to work shifts as needed.
