Mental Health Monitor Sitter

The Mental Health Monitor/ Sitter provides continuous observation of patients who are on suicide watch, in psychiatric restraints, or otherwise identified as being at risk for self-harm or harm to others. The position involves a variety of monitoring, documentation, and communication tasks, primarily supporting the medical personnel licensed under the facility. following all instructions from the medical personnel responsible for the unit, the role is critical in maintaining patient safety and supporting mental health services.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Provide continuous observation of patients on suicide watch, or in psychiatric restraints, or determined to be at risk.
• Monitor patients through in-person observation and assigned video surveillance systems.
• Document observations accurately and promptly.
• Record any incident or behavior.
• Report behavior changes, concerns, and incidents immediately to licensed nursing staff.
• Follow all instructions and protocols provided by medical personnel responsible for the unit.
• Maintain a safe, calm, and therapeutic environment.

REQUIREMENTS
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Prevention monitoring: monitoring patient screens and recording patient behavior and reporting findings.
• Minimum of 6 months of clerical, observation, or experience in a medical setting.
• Strong documentation and communication skills.
