About the role

Smooth-On, Inc. is seeking a production team lead. The role focuses on safe, consistent production, high-quality batches, and team coordination.

Responsibilities

• Align with Smooth-On’s 4 Pillars: Civility, Accuracy, Safety and Productivity.

• Set a positive example and support employee improvement.
• Manufacture high-quality batches safely, maintain a safe work environment, and ensure employees wear proper PPE.
• Coordinate production priorities with Shift Supervisors, Materials/Purchase Manager and Plant Manager.
• Assign personnel and machinery to tasks and batches to support throughput and productivity.
• Inspect batches and paperwork to ensure work follows instructions; keep employees informed and ensure tasks are understood.
• Maintain technical proficiency, familiarity with employee tasks, and knowledge of product and packing configurations.
• Use Soar, Smooth-On Master Form and Fork-It.
• Train new employees on safety, cleanliness, job functions, software, batch sheets, and printing batch sheets, skid tags, box labels and product labels.
• Train existing employees on new equipment, batches and production procedures.
• Safely and efficiently operate pint capping/sealing machinery, can filler and cartridge filler.
• Retrieve packaging components and dispense products from drums or other containers into smaller containers by weight or volume.
• Accurately follow and complete wet pack sheets.
