Job description
About the role
The NOC Engineer provides advanced engineering assistance across a range of services and acts as a liaison between customers, NOC teams, and specialized engineering groups. This is a contract-to-hire role. USC/GC only. Exceptional communication skills and white-glove customer service are required.
Responsibilities
- Manage complex escalations and lead incident recovery efforts.
- Analyze chronic network issues and oversee third-party vendors and internal resources to restore services swiftly.
- Maintain and document customer network environments and ensure proactive communication.
- Support customer-facing and internal projects to improve service quality and reliability.
Requirements
- Six or more years in technical or NOC roles and at least one year supporting LAN/WAN, routers, switches, wireless access points, and protocols such as DNS, SMTP, and SNMP.
- Hands-on experience with ticketing systems such as ConnectWise, voice technologies including PBX and VoIP, and customer documentation.
- A bachelor’s degree or equivalent certifications, such as CCNP, Fortinet FCP, or ITIL, are preferred.
- Strong communication, multitasking, and collaboration skills.
- Occasional travel and after-hours on-call availability are required.
