Open Regular Caregiver Position

About the role

Socalcaregiving is seeking a caregiver for a regular position in Los Angeles 90069. The caregiver will provide in-home care for a female client with advanced dementia and other health needs. Pay is $23/hour. Driving is required, and the caregiver must be able to perform lifting using a Hoyer lift.

Initial coverage requirements for the first 2 weeks include 8-hour coverage: 2 weekdays and 1 weekend shift. Shift options are 11:00am–7:00pm on Mon, Wed, Fri, Sat; Tue, Thu, Sun; or Wed, Fri, Sun. Separate weekday and weekend day coverage is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide full assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs) and personal care.
• Assist with meals and fluids; wheel the client to the dining area and assist as needed.
• Use a Hoyer lift for safe transfers, reposition the client, and provide skin protection.
• Assist with bathing and range of motion exercises as tolerated.
• Provide daily one-on-one stimulation and activities, and assist the client with facility activities.
• Monitor bowel movements, sleep and CPAP tolerance, mood, and behavior.
• Maintain continuous supervision and safety.
• Report incidents, concerns, and changes from baseline.
• Maintain the client’s privacy, dignity, and confidentiality.
• Provide real-time care updates with timestamps.

Requirements

• Immediate availability is required; female candidates are preferred.
• Driving is required.
• Must be able to perform lifting using a Hoyer lift.
• Care needs include advanced dementia, chronic constipation, severe mobility impairment, and CPAP use during sleep.
