Landscaper and Wood Shop Assistant – Belleville, Ontario

Jacob Edwin Quinney is hiring a full-time Landscaper and Wood Shop Assistant in Belleville, Ontario. This hands-on role combines outdoor landscaping and gardening with woodworking projects. Help improve local outdoor spaces while supporting a safe, organized worksite.

Key Responsibilities

• Plant, weed, and prune gardens and outdoor areas.
• Water and fertilize plants and support pest management.
• Assist with woodworking projects, including fabricating and assembling wooden structures and features.
• Safely operate and maintain landscaping and woodworking tools and equipment.
• Work with team members to plan and complete landscaping designs and client requests.
• Clean and organize the worksite and contribute to a safe working environment.
• Monitor project progress, update supervisors, and suggest improvements.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in landscaping, gardening, woodworking, or physically demanding labor is preferred.
• Knowledge of outdoor equipment such as lawn mowers, brush cutters, and chainsaws is an asset.
• Experience using woodworking hand tools and power tools is preferred.
• Ability to use landscaping and woodworking tools safely and effectively.
• Physical stamina and comfort working outdoors in summer heat and conditions that may include bed bugs.
• Strong attention to detail, commitment to quality, and willingness to accept constructive feedback.
